- “My Iconic Maryland” Scavenger Hunt
In honor of National Travel and Tourism Week, the Maryland Tourism Coalition has created a scavenger hunt of 10 Maryland icons!
Directions: Take a selfie with at least six icons between Saturday, April 30 to Sunday, May 8, and be entered to win a prize at random. Winners will be announced Thursday, May 12. - Paddle the Pocomoke River
The Pocomoke River is a beautiful waterway that runs through the charming town of Snow Hill. One of our favorite places to visit is the Pocomoke River Canoe Company to rent canoes and kayaks for a day out on the calm river. Keep a lookout for the birds that frequent the area and the tall Cypress trees in Pocomoke River State Park that line the water.
- Hike Pocomoke River State Park
Speaking of Pocomoke River State Park, there are two areas perfect for hiking and walks through the loblolly pine, dogwood trees, and along the river. Shad Landing is a beautiful swampy spot on the south side of the river, located off of Route 113. Milburn Landing is north of the river, located off of Route 364.
- Sightsee in Snow Hill
Snow Hill is a charming town in Worcester County that’s full of history. There’s plenty to explore including shops and historic sites like the Julia A. Purnell Museum, Sassy Girl Boutique, and Toy Town Antiques
- Bike through downtown Berlin
There are many perks to being on the coast but two of them are flat roads and small towns. This makes for easy biking routes throughout Berlin to Main Street and all the shops and businesses that populate it. Stop for a bite to eat at Main Street Deli, a beer at Burley Oak, ice cream at Island Creamery, and shop at boutiques like Bruder Hill for a full day of fun without needing your car!
- Walk the Boardwalk in Ocean City
One of the most popular tourist attractions in Worcester County is Ocean City’s famous Boardwalk! With close to 3 miles of shops, tasty treats, and attractions, who wouldn’t enjoy going for a stroll? Get the best views of the beach on the Giant Wheel at Jolly Roger Amusement Park and grab a bite to eat with an ocean view with many restaurants and bars to choose from.
- Surf the Waves at Assateague
Escape the crowds of visitors and head to the local's beach at Assateague. Whether you’re on the state park or national seashore, you’ll see exquisite wildlife like wild horses and beautiful marshland views of the bay. Go for a swim or surf the waves then end the day with a bonfire on the beach.
